REAPING WHAT THE LEFTISTS HAVE SOWNSadly enough, it may be true: the attack on the World Trade Centre was inevitable. Western civilisation has earned this, and it has earned it by failing to show faith in itself, by turning away from the invention, exploration and discovery that marked previous centuries and replacing it with the sort of shallow navel-gazing that can excuse such atrocities. It is the leftist's dream come true: a godless barbarian's attempt to defy the inevitable triumph of Jesus Christ and His Protestant flock. An attempt to defy reason, and to beat the drum of self-actualisation and "do it if you feel good". And in this case, the deed that was performed, so self-indulgently, so without discipline, was the deliberate crashing of passenger planes into a large public building. For once, the babblers fell silent, if only for a minute or two, awed at the destruction that their hedonistic doctrines of pluralism and forgiveness had wrought. Awed at the immensity of the crime of letting Error and Idolatry go unchecked in countries supposedly so far away. Awed at discovering that postmodernism means celebrating the Apotheosis of Evil itself. Why did we let ourselves get into this mess? What could have possessed us to believe, and to continue to believe, that Islam is good and peaceful and worthy of preservation so far into enlightened times? The truth has been found, Christ rose and the world bore witness. The evidence is solid beyond dispute. So why do we continue to prevaricate? It is clear what is needed. We need to invade those countries of the East -- those benighted lands -- we need to invade with an army of truth, and love, and wisdom. It is time to knock down the idols and mummery of Mahometism and replace it with Bibles, with bandages, and with good clean water. We need to stop criticising ourselves, to stop going on and on about what is wrong with us, and start talking about what is right. We speak English, we are the apex of the world, we know everything worth knowing. And we need to transmit that knowledge, before it is too late. |
Cameras never lie: the essentially Christian nature of the world of trade and high finance is brought out in this beautiful photograph of a sunrise that will sadly never be seen again... or will it? |
